The first round in 2015/16 SHL didn't gave us much to raise our eyebrows about. There were some tough battles, but all the expected teams won. Eurohockey sums up the five games that were played yesterday in the premiere round.

Skellefteå AIK-HV71 3-2 (1-0, 2-1. 0-1)
Goalscorers SAIK: Terry Broadhurst, Niclas Burström, John Norman
Goalscorers HV71: Björn Melin, Anton Bengtsson

Last years finalist Skellefteå AIK got a tougher game against HV71 that they counted on. HV71 had an advantage from last seasons meeting, but it didn't showed yesterday. Skellefteå took the lead twice in the game and kept it. It wasn't a well played game and most of the game it looked like a battlefield on the ice. -"We have to make a lot better in the next game. We're not pleased with our performance today," Skellefteås' captain Jimmie Ericsson said afterwards.

Örebro HK-MODO Hockey 4-1 (2-1, 1-0, 1-0)
Goalscorers Örebro: Joel Mustonen, Jakub Petruzalek, Anders Eriksson, Johan Motin
Goalscorer MODO: Victor Olofsson

MODO have had a tough preseason and in the premiere round it continued. Örebro HK had an easy win and the new players lead the way. It took only 53 seconds in to the game before the hometeam scored 1-0. And after 2:59 the second goal came when Jakub Petrulazek presented himself. MODO had a hard time with their positioning and Örebros' high forechecking was effective in this game. -"We did a good game today and everyone showed up at work," Örebros' coach Kent Johansson said afterwards.

Brynäs IF-Malmö Redhawks 6-3 (3-1, 2-2, 1-0)
Goalscorers Brynäs: Nick Johnson, Daniel Mannberg, Anton Rödin, Jacob Blomqvist, Anssi Salmela, Mattias Nörstebö
Goalscorers Malmö: Ken McDonell (2), Mattias Persson,

Brynäs had a great night in Gavlerinken yesterday as they hosted newcomers Malmö Redhawks. It was a team that were playful and really showed up. Malmö created some nerves late in the game, as they reduced to 5-3, But Brynäs managed to get away win the win. -"We got some work left to do, but overall we found some chemistry," Anton Rödin, Brynäs IF said afterwards.

Växjö Lakers-Luleå HF 2-3 (0-1, 2-2, 0-0)
Växjö scorers: Robert Rosen, Rikard Gynge
Luleå scorers: Toni Rajala, Jacob Mcflikier, Bill Sweatt

Luleå have signed some great players for this season and yesterday three of them presented themselves. Luleå had 3-0 before Växjö could reduce with two fast goals late in the second. But despite the heavy pressure from Växjö in the third, Luleå managed to win against the reigning champions. -"We got good control, but let some easy goals in," Joel Lassinantti, goalie Luleå HF said afterwards.

Frölunda HC-Rögle BK 2-1 (0-0, 0-0, 2-1)
Frölunda scorers: Spencer Abbott, Oscar Fantenberg
Rögle scorer: David Åslin

After two scoreless periods, the attendance in Scandinavium, Gothenburg, finally got to see some goals. Frölunda created great opportunities all thorugh the game, but Rögles' netminder Oscar Dansk played an amazing game. It would take til' 06:38 in to the third act, when Spencer Abbott found a spot behind Dansk. A great game and two fantastic goalies that made it hard for the teams to score. -"Oscar Dansk was amazing today," Rögles coach Anders Eldebrink said afterwards.
