Swiss hockey mourns one of most prolific player
One of most profilic player of Swiss hockey,
Fritz Naef passed away at 80 last Sunday. Nicknamed "Nasli" for six fractures of the nasal bone, Naef played with Davos, Lausanne and Servette, finishing six times as NLA top scorer during the import-ban era (1959-1970) and holding the record for number of goals scored by a player in a game of NLA, with eight goals recorded January 21, 1967 in the 12-3 Servette victory against Neuchatel Young Sprinters. He played his last match February 15, 1969, a 7-3 victory against HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. After retirement Naef worked as limousine driver
Naef has also an impressive score with national team: 52 goals in 51 appearances playing in four World Championships and at 1956 Olympics in Cortina, when he scored 6 goals, 2 against Soviet Union, 2 against Sweden and 2 against Austria
