Swiss hockey mourns one of most prolific player

 
 
 
 
One of most profilic player of Swiss hockey, Fritz Naef passed away at 80 last Sunday. Nicknamed "Nasli" ​​for six fractures of the nasal bone, Naef played with Davos, Lausanne and Servette, finishing six times as NLA top scorer during the import-ban era (1959-1970) and holding the record for number of goals scored by a player in a game of NLA, with eight goals recorded January 21, 1967 in the 12-3 Servette victory against Neuchatel Young Sprinters. He played his last match February 15, 1969, a 7-3 victory against HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. After retirement Naef worked as limousine driver
Naef has also an impressive score with national team: 52 goals in 51 appearances playing in four World Championships and at 1956 Olympics in Cortina, when he scored 6 goals, 2 against Soviet Union, 2 against Sweden and 2 against Austria
