Jenni Asserholt, captain of the 2014 champion Linköping and the Swedish women's national team, was today named Årets hockeytjej (Hockey girl of the year).
For the eleventh time a winner of the most prestigious individual award in Swedish women's ice hockey was named. In 2014 the winner is Jenni Asserholt of Linköping HC.
"Jenni Asserholt is a hard-working forward who gives everything in every situation. She is a great role model, both on and off the ice. She is always prepared and always show leadership", is the jury's motivation for the decision.
Asserholt, who gets her physical therapist degree this spring, has still not decided if she will retire from the national team or not.
