After five consecutive losses SC Bern stopped its negative trend with a clear 5-1 win against EHC Biel while HC Davos won in over time against Kloten.
HC Davos - Kloten Flyers 4:3 OTIn the direct duel of the two Swiss Spengler Cup participants, it was Felicien Du Bois who scored first for Kloten after 18 minutes when his nice backhander found the back of the net in a power play situation. Just two minutes after the beginn of the middle period Bodenmann tried it from the blue line when his team had won the face off and the guests' lead had increased. At the end of the period a Kloten defender was very unlucky when he deflected the puck into the own net when Taticek tried it from a tight angle. When Bieber just had to put the puck behind the goal line (45.) after a nice pass by Santala the game seemed to be already over but in the last two minutes Taticek with his second and Bürgler tied the game. In the over time Davos directly had a power play and they risked everything by pulling out their goalie to have a 5 on 3 - a decision that turned out to be perfect as Sykora scored the game winner.
SC Bern - EHC Biel 5:1 For the SC Bern the derby against EHC Biel was the perfect chance to end its five game losing streak. With 17,131 spectators the Postfinance-Arena was sold out and Bern didn't want to disappoint the home crowd another time after two conescutive losses in their own arena. After a hard but goalless first period, Bern over ran its opponent with three goals in two and a half minutes - Reichert (23.), Berger (24.) and Dumont (25.) had scored. Later in the period Ritchie even increased this solid lead (30.). Although Kparghai did the 1-4 after 36 minutes, Bern didn't let them come into the game and Plüss put the puck into the net for the final score of 5-1 three seconds before the end of the period. In the last Bern did only the necessary to secure the win.
