Former Italy national team defender Carter Trevisani was elected Federal Hockey League November's player of the month. Trevisani, currently playing for Akwesasne Warriors, recorded 9 goals and 17 assists in 16 games, helping his team to grab the first place in the newly formed league.

NHL club the Dallas Stars confirmed last night the speculation that the Finnish ice hockey player Jere Lehtinen ends his career.
37-year-old Lehtinen is the only Finn to have won both the Stanley Cup (1999) and the World Championships (1995).
Lehtinen has had problems with injuries for a long time. Last season he had problems with the groin and played only 58 games, scoring four goals and collected 17 points.

After a series of disappointing results Serie A team SHC Fassa sacked Canadian coach Mike Posma. Posma was the third coach on Fassa's bench this season, after Canadian Steve Stirling, resigning in late August for family reasons, and Czech-Canadian Miroslav Frycer, contracted to replace Stirling but never arrived in Fassa. The team is currently coached ad interim by Luigi Marchetti and will soon announce a new coach.

Fabio Polloni announced the Italian roster for the World Juniors Division 1 in Belarus December 13-19. Italy will face Belarus, Latvia, Ukraine, Japan and Great Britain.

The Ilves attacker Masi Marjamäki injured Kärpät's Kamil Kreps with a brutal hit. The SM-Liiga has reviewed the hit from many angles and decided that there is no reason to punish Marjamäki for the incident. Kreps was motionless on the ice for several minutes after the hit.

19 years old Mechel Chelyabinsk forward Maksim Karpov was named "best rookie" for his 9 (2+7) points record past month.

Victor Korolev is no more the coach of Dizel Penza. After 7 consecutives defeats, Dizel management decided to sack the coach, replacing with Oleg Butylin as interim coach. The new coach's name isn't known yet.

In his first game for Spartak Moskva (KHL), Juraj Mikus scored the game-winner just 10 seconds before the final whistle of Wednesday's 3-2 win against Barys Astana.
Mikhail Zhukov had tied the game for Spartak a minute earlier.

One of the greatest Danish players ever, Kim Staal, is back in Danish ice hockey. He left his Danish team Herlev at age 15 to play most of his career in Sweden, except for one season in AHL (Milwaukee Admirals). Staal who has been troubled by injuries the last two seasons has signed a contract with Herning. Staal has played 14 World Championships with Denmark including 8 in the Elite group.

Djurgården's forward Nils Ekman has been given a five game suspension and has been fined 80 000 Swedish Kronor (about €8600) after a very hard slashing in the game against Brynäs on Saturday. The 80 000 SEK fine is the largets fine for a player in Elitserien.
