Central Hockey League Odessa Jackalopes announces team will move to NAHL next season after NAHL governors accepted bid and the ownership group finalized the purchase of a team from Owatonna Minnesota last week.
Odessa's departure from the CHL continues a recent exodus as Amarillo and Corpus Christi moved to the NAHL last season.

After won 6-3 over Alfa Novo Sarajevo in semifinal with an hattrick by promising Dino Čordalija, Ilidza beated 2-1 in the final last season cup winner HK Bosna.

Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League, announced Wednesday that Mike Williamson (Leduc, Alta.), head coach of the WHL's Calgary Hitmen, will be the head coach of Canada's National Men's Under-18 Team for the 2011 IIHF World Under-18 Championship, April 14-24 in Dresden and Crimmitschau, Germany.

The SKA St. Petersburg Council of President's reacted on the team's underachievement really quick. As the first move after the team's elimination from the KHL quarterfinals they announced the end of Václav Sýkora in the position as head coach and also of Jan Votruba, his assistant.
One day before this action the president of club Alexander Medvedev told, that players are winning the games, coaches are losing, which hinted a possibility of Sýkora's and Votruba's removing from the team. "This is a management's decision, there's nothing to comment. It's the decisions time and I think that they will be constructive and they'll come soon," GM Andrei Tochitsky said.

Vladimír Jeřábek, 52, signed a contract for the rest of this season. He has only one target: To save an Extraliga license for the next season, because the team of Mladá Boleslav is balancing on the edge of relegation to the 1.liga. Last time, Jeřábek was leading HC Kometa Brno in Extraliga, but he resigned after bad results on Jan 5, 2011.

HC Lugano announces the sign of 59 years old American Berry Smith as new coach for next two seasons.
Smith worked in NHL for Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes winning 5 Stanley Cup: in 1991 and 1992 with Pittsburgh, in 1997, 1998 and 2002 with Detroit Red Wings. From 1997 to 2010 he was head coach of SKA st. Petersburgh in KHL and last season worked in Chicago Blackhawks as scout.

Jokerit's head coach Erkka Westerlund is suspended from the 4th SM-Liiga Quarter Final against HIFK and maybe also more games after an incident in the third game. After HIFK's late 2-1 goal he threw a bottle at the referee and received a match penalty.

Brampton Battalion 17 years old Czech goalie Matej Machovsky was awarded with F.W. "Dinty" Moore Trophy as the rookie goalie with the Best Goals-Against-Average.
Machovsky - eligible for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft - led all rookie goaltenders with a goals-against-average of 2.90 which ranked as the seventh best mark in the entire OHL. Last season another Czech goalie, Petr Mrazek from Ottawa 67's, captured the trophy
