Gazprom oil markedly reduces the budget of Avangard Omsk. Compared to last season the club will not receive nearly one-third of funds from its principal sponsor.
For the whole season 2013/14 Avangard and its youth team Omsk Hawks will receive 684.4 million rubles from the general sponsor, a cut of about 30%

It has now been confirmed that the Fylde Flyers will not operate as an Ice Hockey team in next season's NIHL North Division 2. Instead the team will convert to the inline format of the game competing in BiSHA North league for the 2013 season.
The move comes after both manager Mick Caunce and Player/Coach Mark Gillingham stepped down citing the small Fylde Ice pad as a major problem in attracting new players of a higher standard. The team also frequently travelled to away game with just 10 skaters resulting in an uncompetitive side being put on to the ice in the majority of games.

From the next season the official name of Sibir Novosibirsk will change in Sibir Novosibirsk Region.
A similar change in the official name happened with Avangard, which now represents the Omsk region.

Finnish goalie Antero Niittymäki becomes a scout for Philadelphia Flyers He will work in Europe with another Finnish former player Ilkka Sinisalo. His main responsibilities will be to watch and evaluate young European goalies.
The goalkeeper announced his retirement in April of this year.

The Jamestown Ironmen will not return for the NAHL season in 2013/2014.
Owner Kenji Yamada has decided to suspend operations for the season. "I really appreciate all the support from local people and the community," said Yamada. "I am strongly looking forward to make the Jamestown Ironmen come back on the ice for the 2014/2015 season"

In compliance with Kazakhstan Federation new rules not allowing a farm-team to partecipate in the league with same name of main team, Sary-Arka-2 was renamed Berkut (golden eagles) after a contest between fans.
Previously Barys-2 changed its name to Nomad. Kazzinc-Torpedo-2 still not announced new name

Barys Astana announces Finnish Ari-Pekka Selin as new head coach. Selin, 50, worked at Ilves, Saipa and last season at HPK Hämeenlinna and was Finland national team assistant coach at last World Championship. He signed a two-years contract.
Andrei Shayanov and Erlan Sagymbaev, along with former Ilves coach Raimo Helminen will be the assistents

Vladimir Rokkel is the new GM of Metallurg Novokuznetsk replacing Evgeny Terentyev. Earlier Rokkel served as first deputy mayor of Novokuznetsk on social issues, as well as supervising the sport in the city, including hockey.
Also Swiss ambri-Piotta announces the new GM: it's former rival HC Lugano GM Alain Vetterli.

The rumour it's now confirmed by Red Bulls: former Eisbaren Berlin coach Don Jackson is the new headcoach of Austrian team. The 56-year-old American has enjoyed a very successful six-year stint as head coach of the Eisbären Berlin, winning 5 DEL titles, the last three consecutive and an European Trophy. In Salzburg he replaces Pierre Pagé, who left the team after six seasons, three EBEL titles and a Continental Cup, to join Red Bull München.
Couriously Jackson come to Berlin in 2007 replacing Pierre Pagé as head coach and subsequently taking the Eisbären to five German championship titles (DEL).

The Board of Vityaz has agreed with the KHL and the Government of the Moscow Oblast the final details of the move from Chekhov to Podolsk
Starting from season 2013/14 Vityaz will be based in Podolsk and hold home games at the Ice Palace "Vityaz", which seats 5,500 spectators. Vityaz has already played in Podolsk from 2000 to 2003, before to moved to Chekhov.
Youth team "Russian Knights" will remain in Chekhov and will hold their home games at the Ice Hockey Center "Vityaz", which seats 3,300 spectators.
