Game recap

Sheffield Steelers will start with a three-goal lead in Manchester next week following a 5-2 home win against the Storm.

Manchester took the lead in the game at 15:10 as Scott Simmonds' shot was spilled by Tomáš Duba but the forward was able to follow up his own rebound to score. However, the visitors couldn't hold their lead until the end of the period and the scored were leveled by Michael Davies at 19:14 with Matt Ginn stranded.

Marc-Olivier Vallerand put the Steelers ahead 2:10 into period two, while Davies took the lead out to 3-1 just over 12 minutes later. Scott Simmonds pounced on a rebound from Cody Thompson's shot to make it 3-2 at 35:01, but Jonathan Phillips put the Steelers back two ahead at 37:55. The final goal of the game was somewhat of a fluke, Tanner Eberle's shot hit the inside of Ginn's pad and snuck into the net with 4:03 to go.
