Groups set for the 2012 IIHF World Juniors in Alberta

(07 Jan 2011, 22:33) | With the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship coming to a close in Buffalo, N.Y., Hockey Canada and the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship host committee have announced the groups and their host cities for the preliminary round. Russia wins WJC after an incredible third period

(06 Jan 2011, 10:17) | It was one of the most memorable games in the history of World Junior championships. The Russians completed the biggest comeback ever and beat Canada in the finals. Being down 3-0 after the 2nd period, they seemed to be reconciled with silver medals. Then the miracle happened. Russia scored five consecutive goals and won the gold medals. Read more»

USA beats Sweden to win WJC bronze

(06 Jan 2011, 02:46) | Team USA produced a commited performance in World Juniors bronze medal game to win its first ever accolade on home soil. A brace from Chris Kreider together with goals from Drew Shore and Nick Bjugstad were enough to outpower the Swedish team, which dominated for large periods of the game, but was stopped on numerous occasions by goalkeeper Jack Campbell. Read more»

Nicholas Weberg’s view of the WJC

Although they don’t reach the level of Canada or Sweden, Norway played equal with teams like the Czech Republic. Finally a win for Norway

(05 Jan 2011, 12:21) | Norway had lost all games in the World Junior Championship but in the last game against Germany they finally got a win. Both teams are however relegated anyway. Czech Republic also beat Slovakia 5-2 in the Relegation Round. Switzerland beat Finland in the game for the 5h place. Read more»

Russia knocks out Finland from the WJC playoffs
