Petri Vehanen made 27 saves and earned a shutout when Ak Bars beat Metallurg Magnitogorsk 2-0. In the other net another Finnish goalie, Ari Ahonen, saved 26 shots but allowed 2.

Maxim Spiridonov scored 1-0 in the first period and Danis Zaripov 2-0 in the third.

One of the most successful Russian teams during the last few years, Salavat, celebrated its 50th anniversary today and beat Avangard 4-2.
 
The visitors took the lead early in the second period when Alexander Frolov beat Nikita Davydov. Salavat then scored twice before Frolov scored his second goal of the night short-handed one minute before the end of the period. Igor Mirnov and Sergei Zinoviev scored in the third period to win three points for the home team.
