The classic Swiss club will play another season in NLA after managing to raise 1,500,000 CHF.
As previous reported here on eurohockey.com the Swiss club HC Ambri Piotta were considering to withdraw from the Swiss top league Nationalliga A due to economic difficulties. However with the help of 20,000 people the club has managed to raise over 1,500,000 CHF (over 1,300,000 Euro). Thus the club that have played in NLA since 1985 is saved but the club with continue to work hard to make the finances stronger.
The club has also announced that the contract with the American head coach Kevin Constantine has been extended to the end of the 2013/2014 season. Other good news for the club was the signing of the AHL All-Star defender Maxim Noreau who also made five NHL games last season. The club will start their ice practice on August 8.
