The Swedes secured an early lead with five unanswered goals in the first period, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Sweden's offense exploded early, scoring five goals in the opening period. The second line, featuring Victor Eklund, Felix Nilsson, and Anton Wahlberg, was particularly effective, contributing four of these goals. Key moments included Wahlberg's multi-point efforts and a superb team play capped by Victor Eklund's opening goal.

The second period saw a slightly more balanced contest. Anton Wahlberg extended Sweden's lead to 6-0 with a power-play goal, his second tally of the game. Kazakhstan responded at 37:28 when Artur Gross capitalized on a rebound to score their only goal, spoiling Swedish goaltender Marcus Gidlöf’s shutout bid.

Sweden continued to dominate in the third period, adding two more goals. Oskar Vuollet converted a crisp pass from Zeb Forsfjäll to make it 7-1, while David Granberg capitalized on a turnover to finalize the 8-1 scoreline.
