Three goalkeepers, eight defenders and fourteen forwards have been selected to fight for advancement to the Olympic Games.

Slovakia will face the challenge of going through the qualification tournament for the second time in a row. Three years ago, during strict COVID-19 restrictions, Slovakia overcame Austria 2:1, Poland 5:1, and Belarus 2:1 in a similar final tournament held in Bratislava. The victory earned them a place at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where they won a historic bronze medal. Slovakia became one of the few teams to qualify through the tournament and later secure an Olympic medal.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will feature only the winners of each of the three final qualification groups. Alongside the D group in Bratislava, featuring Austria, Hungary, and Kazakhstan, similar tournaments will take place in Riga (Latvia, France, Slovenia, Ukraine) and Aalborg (Denmark, Norway, Great Britain, Japan).
