Beat Gerber sets new Swiss record

The SC Bern defender Beat Gerber played his 1168th NL game on Friday.

 
 
 
 

In Bern's home game against EV Zug on Friday (loss 3-4) 39-years old Beat Gerber played his 1168th game in the Swiss top league, one more than the previos record holder Mathias Seger.

Gerber has played for SC Bern since 2003 and has won the Swiss championship six times. He started his NLA career with SC Langnau in 1999/2000 and is now also the oldest player of the league.
