Home loss for the 2021 champion on the opening day of the Swedish league.

All 14 teams were on the ice on the opening day of the Swedish top league SHL. With current Corona restrictions only an average of 1967 spectators visited the games but from October the limited attendance numbers are gone and the fans are welcome back to Swedish arenas.

Växjö Lakers HC - Färjestad BK 3 - 4 (2-0, 0-1, 1-2, 0-0, 0-1)

Last season's champion Växjö got a good start of the first game of the season and had a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. The guests Färjestad turned the game to a 3-2 lead close to the end but Hugo Gustasson tied it again for Växjö at 58:21. After the overtime period Färjestad won the shootout on a goal by Victor Ejdsell.

IK Oskarshamn - Timrå IK 5 - 4 (2-2, 3-1, 0-1)

Oskarshamn got a horrible start against the newly promoted Timrå and allowed two early goals. Two goals each by Patrik Karlkvist and Tomas Zohorna and a winner by Fredrik Olofsson was however enough for a home win in Be-Ge Hockey Center.

Frölunda HC - Brynäs IF 2 - 4 (2-1, 0-3, 0-0)

Frölunda is expected to be a top team while Brynäs are predicted to fight to avoid relegation but the winners of day one was Brynäs. Nicklas Danielsson, Greg Scott, Linus Ölund and Adam Pettersson got goals in the 4-2 win.

Luleå HF - Linköping HC 5 - 2 (1-1, 1-1, 3-0)

Konstantin Komarek is back in Luleå for the third time and what a game he had on the opening day. Two goals and two assists was the result for the Austrian player.

Leksands IF - IF Malmö Redhawks 3 - 4 (2-2, 0-1, 1-1)

Pathrik Westerholm scored twice and Adam Ollas Mattsson got the game-winning goal when Malmö beat Leksand on the road.

Örebro HK - Rögle BK 2 - 3 (1-2, 0-1, 1-0)

Kristian Näkyvä scored two goals for Örebro but that wasn't enough to beat last year's finalist Rögle. Tyler Kelleher, Adam Edström and Ted Brithén scored for the guests.

Djurgårdens IF - Skellefteå AIK 2 - 5 (1-3, 1-1, 0-1)

Skellefteå scored three early goals in Stockholm and Djurgården could never catch up. Gustaf Lindvall made 27 saves for the guests.
