Tenth consecutive title for Medvescak in Croatia
Fantastic season for Medvescak reserve team with two titles: the surprising one of IHL and the obvious of domestic league
Medvescak Zagreb second team closed a season to remember confirming the
national title of Croatian League after winning IHL league less than a
month ago. It's the tenth consecutive title for Medvescak, which makes
the club the most titled of the country. The regular season for the
three traditional clubs - Medvescak, KHL Zagreb and Mladost - coincided
with the matches between Croatian clubs during IHL, while in a so-called
Group B KHL Sisak and the new club Mamut created in Delnice battled for
the remaining place in the semi-finals. But Medvescak left no hope for
qualified Sisak in just two games, while KHL Zagreb need three games to
knock-out Mladost.
The finals were dominated by Medvescak, 10-4 and 7-4.
KHL
Zagreb and national team forward Mislav Blagus finished as the Top Scorer and the Best Player of regular season,
while other awards were assigned to Medvescak Vito Nikolic (Best Goalie)
and Ivan Jankovic as League MVP
