Who’ll stop Australia?

Aussies won 5-3 against Belgium in a sold out arena: first place seems already reserved.

Australia won a key match against Belgium, the other team with perfect record until now, and is waiting for next game, the Downunder classic against New Zealand to seal its return to next year's Division I. Belgium had bruised Joris Peusens regulary on ice and wasn't there to be the sacrificial lamb: the first period was pretty equal, with chances for both team but ended scoreless. The fireworks began between 24 and 26 minutes: Liam Webster and Nathan Walker put Australia ahead 2-0. Kristof Van Looy keeps Belgium alive but until the second break Greg Oddy again doubled Aussies advantage. After 43 second of the last period Joseph Hugues scored the fourth goal, apparently the decisive one, but Belgian didn't lose heart and put the puck twice behind Matt Izzy back, frightening the large crowd until the final empty net 5-3 scored by David Upton.
