Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Sibir Novosibirsk are the new conference leaders of the KHL
In the previous weeks, all the spotlights were cast on CSKA Moscow and Jokerit, which were protagonists of a long and hard-fought battle between each other to reach the top of the Western Conference. But now, they have to fight only for the two lowest positions on the podium, as a new strong competitor for a long lead has appeared: Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, which is at the moment the leader of both the Western Conference and the Tarasov division. While Zagreb, despite a great start, has now fallen slightly to the sixth conference position (but is still the second team of its division), and Dinamo Riga finds itself at the bottom of the Bobrov division, Yaroslavl has on its part matured only five straight losses out of twenty-one games played. The Bobrov division is still lead by Jokerit, though.
Looking east, Sibir Novosibirsk are the leaders both of their own conference and of the Chernyshev division, while the Kharlamov one is lead by Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Avangard Omsk is third overall. Lada Togliatti, with sixteen losses out of twenty-one games played, remais the weakest team around, still searching for better days to come.
