With Champions Hockey League closing in, Eurohockey is presenting the eight teams from SHL that will participate in this this years competition. Reigning champions are Luleå HF. This is Färjestad BK.
Färjestad BK is coming from a total unsuccessful season, due to their failure to miss the playoffs. It was the first time in 20 years that the team from Karlstad missed the playoffs. For upcoming season, Färjestad have rearranged quite good in the organisation.
Last season, Färjestad ended up in 7th place in SHL and had to face Brynäs IF in a so called playin to the playoffs. The last game became a thriller, but in the end Färjestad was eliminated. Now one of SHL´s biggest favorites to win Le Mat have rearranged and recruited some great players who may all be game winners.
Among these players we find goalkeeper Lars Haugen, Defenders Jonas Holös, Magnus Nygren and Mikael Wikstrand. We also find the forwards Robbie Earl and Johan Ryno. These are all players who can turn a game around. Big, strong and skilled players.
Färjestad is one of the most winning organisations in Swedish hockey and have won the trophy Le Mat 9 times. Last win came 2011. The team from Karlstad have been in 20 finals, so it is quite a successful club.
Färjestad is playing in Group E along with Dynamo Pardubice and HC Davos. It will be Färjestads second appearance in CHL and the winners mentality in the club is strong. Looking at the new players in the club, Färjestad have the potential to go far in the tournament.
First game will be on Thursday August 20th in Löfbergs Arena in Karlstad against HC Davos.
