Key win for France
Fleury and Huet heroes when France beats Austria 2-0.
In a very tight game France took a key win to avoid regelation by beating Austria 2-0. The game was scoreless for over 46 minutes before Damien Fleury scored what turned out to be the game winner while Michael Raffl sat in the penalty box for the second time of the game. Stephane Da Costa took a shot on the power play that Fleury tipped in.
In a last effort to come back Austria pulled goaltender Bernhard Starkbaum who has been really good so far in the tournament. But it didn't took long for France to kill the game when Laurent Meunier sealed the victory with his 2-0 goal in the empty net.
France experienced goaltender Cristobal Huet made 23 saves for the shutout, his first ever at a World Championship in his 11th tournament.
