Most experts expect MODO to end the season close to the bottom of the standings but today they beat Färjestad 6-2 in Karlstad. Skellefteå and HV71 also got big wins.
Färjestads BK - MODO Hockey 2 - 6 (0-1, 2-3, 0-2)
MODO got the first win ov the season when they beat Färjestad comfortably in Löfbergs Arena. The key to the win was three quick powerplay goals in the second period when they gained a 4-1 lead.
"We played bad, I played very bad tonight and I'm incredibly disappointed with my own performance. I was useless", says Färjestad's star center Jakub Klepis to Färjestad's web page.
Skellefteå AIK - Linköping HC 4 - 1 (0-0, 3-0, 1-1)
The home team won the game in the second period that ended 3-0 in goals and 13-0 (!) in shots on goal. Martin Lundberg scored the first two goals. Andrew Calof and Kirill Kabanov got one each before last season's top goal scorer Chad Kolarik scored Linköping's only goal close to the end.
HV 71 - Frölunda HC 5 - 0 (1-0, 2-0, 2-0)
Mattias Tedenby scored his first two goals of the season when HV71 easily defeated Frölunda. Teemu Laine played his first game for HV71 after three seasons in KHL.
