Russia keeps on dominating their group and took a solid 4-1 win against Latvia. Viktor Tikhonov scored two goals and added on assist.

Latvia took the lead but even Latvia did a good performance it was all about Russia after Miks Indrasis one-timer goal for Latvia. Russia quickly recovered and scored three goals already in the first period.

Tikhonov who now has twelve points and leads the tournament in scoring made the first and the third while Sergei Shirokov banged home 2-1 after a bounce of the plexi glass.

In the second period Sergei Kalinin made it 4-1 when he picked up a rebound and found himself with a lot of time to score. That was also the final scored even if Russia had a five minute power play after major penalty for spearing to Latvias' Zemgus Girgensons who showed frustration.

Even if Russia played on few players with some injuries and waiting for Malkin to join they made a very solid game and is really dominating the game. For Latvia it was their second loss but they still look good to reaching the quarter finals.
