In their last six participations in Olympic men's ice hockey, Sweden has finished either fifth or won an Olympic gold medal
Sweden has won its first three matches in this tournament: 4-2 against Czech Republic, 1-0 against Switzerland and 5-3 against Latvia
Slovenia has two wins and two defeats in this competition. It started off with a 5-2 defeat against Russia, before seeing off Slovakia 3-1. It then lost 5-1 against United States, before overwhelming Austria 4-0
On Slovenia's original roster for this tournament, there was one player from an NHL team, Anze Kopitar. On Sweden's original roster, all but one of the 25 players represents a NHL team.
Sweden has lost three of its last four Olympic quarterfinal matches in men's ice hockey.
