Italian Serie A2 already has a semifinalist

Regular season leader Gherdeina showed its superiority and easily landed in the semifinals.

The Regular season winner Gherdeina is the first team to qualify for the playoffs semifinals overpowering the eager Real Torino in only 4 games.
In game 4, played yesterday in Turin, Gherdeina waited 20 minutes before closing the game in the second period with 3 goals in 5 minutes and another 3 in the last 20 minutes to fix the final score to 2-6. Real star player David Stricker - the best Italian scorer in Serie A2 - scores the two last Real goals of the season. The short Real roster and clear technical skill superiority by Gherdeina never left the game uncertain.

Gherdeina is the only team to close the quarter-finals in just 4 games: the other pairs are more balanced: Vipiteno Broncos leads 3-1 against Merano after a 1-4 away victory with a hattrick by Randall Gelech and the controversy last Friday game when Merano refused to end the game and didn't come back on ice after the 2nd period (Vipiteno leading 8-0) alleging unsportsmanlike conduct by Vipiteno fans. Current champion Appiano Pirates won its first game in the series versus Milano Rossoblù but needs a miracle now to redress the situation; while SV Caldaro equalized the series versus their traditional rival Egna in the most balanced pair. Wednesday game 5: Milano and Vipiteno can join Gherdeina.
