After leaving New Jersey Devils Ilya Kovalchuk has now signed a four-year deal with the KHL club SKA St. Petersburg.
SKA St. Petersburg today announced that Ilya Kovalchuk who recently announced his decision to retire from the NHL has signed with the club. Thus Kovalchuk returns to the club he played for during the NHL lockout.
Kovalchuk who made 42 points in 36 games for SKA during the lockout has signed a contract for four years. He will play with jersey number 17 for SKA.
Kovalchuk will be a great asset for SKA in their hunt for their first KHL title. The club has already signed several high class players like Roman Cervenka, Alexander Salak and Vadim Shipachyov.
