Russia will add Alexander Ovechkin as their last player.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation has announced that Alexander Ovechkin will join their team roster at the World Championship after his team Washington Capitals was eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs by New York Rangers.
Ovechkin made 56 points in 48 regular season games in NHL and will be taking the last spot on the Russian roster. It will be Ovechkin's ninth World Championship tournament and his fourth in a row. Last year the 28 year old made two goal and two assists in three games.
Russia's next game will be the quarter final on Thursday where Russia will play USA or Slovakia.
