Traktor beats Salavat Yulaev in the battle of East leaders

Atlant rally to clinch playoffs, 10 goals in Astana, Traktor beats Salavat Yulaev in the top game of the day

 
 
 
 
Avangard 1-3 Dinamo Riga

Dinamo Riga won the second game of their road trip with the same score of 3-1. The Latvian team grabbed a lead in the middle of the second when Jamie Lundmark scored at 27:33. Dmitry Syomin tied the game after a pass from Yury Alexandrov at 35:46. In the third Dinamo won the game with a goal by Mikelis Redlihs and an empty-netter by Martins Karsums. Christopher Holt stoned 27 shots and also helped his team to continue their winning streak which led them into the playoffs.

Barys 4-6 Ak Bars

Most goals were scored in Astana where Barys met their main rivals in KHL Ak Bars Kazan. Teams began very active and for the first 7 minutes they scored three times. At 03:28 Ak Bars took a lead with a goal by Kirill Petrov but 37 seconds later Talgat Zhailaulov tied the game with a backhand shot after a pass from Yevgeny Fadeyev. 4 minutes later Brandon Bochenski pulled Barys ahead in the power-play during the flurries in front of the net. A fight happened in the middle of the period when Kevin Dallman faced Grigory Panin. Then Josef Straka tied the game on a 4-on-4 play after a pass from Alexei Tereshchenko. Later in the first Denis Kulyash pulled Ak Bars ahead at 15:42. At 28 second of the second Niko Kapanen increased the lead for the team from Kazan. But it was cut by Jiri Novotny who used a pass from Roman Starchenko at 28:01. To the end of the period Ak Bars increased their lead to three goals with the help of Denis Kulyash and Alexei Morozov. Early in the third Kevin Dallman scored the fourth goal of the night for the Kazakh team and closed the game with a 4-6 score. In the third period Barys made 20 shots against Emil Garipov who substituted the starting goalie Ivan Kasutin early in the first. For the whole game they fired 49 times towards the Ak Bars Kazan net and beat their goalies 4 times.

Avtomobilist 2-1 OT Neftekhimik

Avtomobilist continued to play till the end of the season beating Neftekhimik this night 2-1 in overtime. Nikolai Belov opened the scoring early in the second when an Avtomobilist D-man made a mistake and Yegor Milovzorov and Oskar Osala assisted him. Nikolai Bushuyev in the third used a mistake of Igor Polygalov to tie the game at 47:19. In the overtime Andrei Subbotin fed up a pass to Denis Sokolov to close the game at 56 second of overtime.

Metallurg Mg 2-3 OT Atlant

Atlant rally from a 2-goal deficit to beat Metallurg in overtime. Sergei Mozyakin grabbed his team a lead in the first when he used a pass from Alexei Kaigorodov and Oleg Tverdovsky to score in power-play at 14:43. With 4:18 remaining in the third Mozyakin scored the second goal of the night and it seemed that Metallurg wouldn't lose this night. During a 45 seconds span Atlant tied the game with Alexander Rybakov and Andrei Zubarev goals and won the game in the overtime when Jonas Andersson scored at 18 second of it with assists from Zubarev and Janne Niskala. This win help Atlant to qualify playoff this year.

Traktor 2-1 Salavat Yulaev

The main game of the day was played in Chelyabinsk where local Traktor faced Salavat Yulaev. Traktor did get a quick lead when Petri Kontiola with a nice wrister beat Ufa goalie Nikita Davydov at 06:10. Alexander Ryazantsev scored another goal this season with a low shot in power-play at 32:01. Salavat Yulaev only managed to score one time when Miroslav Blatyak fired from the blue line and the puck with ricochets get to the net at 48:29. Traktor goalie Michael Garnett played a really nice game with stopping 40 shots from Ufa players, the most active was D-man Vitaly Atyushov who fired 6 times.

Yugra 2-3 SO SKA

SKA pulled ahead two times in the first two periods but both times Yugra tied the game. First time SKA opened the scoring with a goal by Vladimir Tarasenko at 05:53 and Dmitry Altaryov tied the game with a shorthanded goal 5 minutes later. At the sixth minute of the second Yevgeny Artyukhin gave SKA a 1-goal lead which was erased again 5 minutes later with Igor Skorohodov help. The game went into a shootout series where Vladimir Tarasenko with an accurate shot led his team to a victory. Ilya Ezhov stopped 28 shots and denied all three Yugra penalty attempts in the shootout. After this game SKA equaled with Traktor in the overall KHL standings. Now both teams have got 98 points after 47 games.
