Belarus beat Ukraine 7-2 on the opening day of the WJC Div. 1A in front of 5500 fans in Bobruisk Arena. Italy defeated Japan 6-0 after four goals by Mirko Presti. Great Britain was no problem for Latvia who won 6-1.

On the second day of the World Juniors 1B in Bled, Croatia lost 12-3 to Denmark. The goalie Kresimir Tomljenovic faced 86 shots. Patrick Russel scored four of the Danish goals. Austria beat Kazakhstan 5-2.

Yermak Angarsk coach Sergei Krivokrasov resigned today following unsatisfactory permormances of the team, currently last in the VHL East conference. Krivokrasov didn't exclude to remain as assistant coach or in the staff.

Hungary beat China 20-0 on the first day of the World U20 Championship Div. II B in Romania. South Korea defeated Australia 7-5 after a strong first period. the home team Romania lost 1-8 to Poland.
In the A group in Estonia Icland beat Belgium 5-1 and Netherlands beat Estonia 5-2. France leads the group after an 8-1 win over Spain.

SKA St. Petersburg's star goalie Evgeny Nabokov leaves the team. His 4-years-contract was terminated for family reasons.

The World Junior Championship Division 1B in Bled, Slovenia started today. Denmark beat Kazakhstan 7-1. Austria defeated Lithuania 5-0 and the host Slovenia got a great start with an 11-3 victory against neighbours Croatia.

113,411 fans, World record for an ice hockey game, attended the college game between Michigan Wolverines and state rivals Michigan State Spartans in a game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Wolverines won the game 5-0 in the football stadium.

The WJC Div.1 (B) in Slovenia starts today. Tomorrow starts the A group of the 1st Division in Belarus and the Division 2 groups in Estonia and Romania.
The Elite group starts December 12 and Division 3 that is the last of the U20 World Championships to be played this season begins January 9.

Beat Lautenschlager, last season on GCK Lions bench, is the new coach of 1 Lega' club HC Ceresio. He replaced Ruben Fontana who remains in the club as manager. Ceresio is HC Lugano's farm team. After a careeer as player in Kloten and Bienne, Lautenschlager worked as assistant coach for the U20 national team and head coach for the U18 team. From 2001 to 2003 he coached EHC Basel, winning NLB in 2002, before accepting the GCK offer.

Ottawa Senators announced on its website that Robin Lehner, 19, will play the World Junior Championships for Sweden.
Lehner has been on the ice for two NHL games with the Senators and still have not allowed any goals. Otherwise, he has mostly been playing in the Binghamton Senators of the AHL.

Former Italy national team defender Carter Trevisani was elected Federal Hockey League November's player of the month. Trevisani, currently playing for Akwesasne Warriors, recorded 9 goals and 17 assists in 16 games, helping his team to grab the first place in the newly formed league.

NHL club the Dallas Stars confirmed last night the speculation that the Finnish ice hockey player Jere Lehtinen ends his career.
37-year-old Lehtinen is the only Finn to have won both the Stanley Cup (1999) and the World Championships (1995).
Lehtinen has had problems with injuries for a long time. Last season he had problems with the groin and played only 58 games, scoring four goals and collected 17 points.
