Game recap

Coventry Blaze cruised to a 7-2 win over Dundee Stars in the first clash between the teams this season.

All of the damage was done in the opening period, where the home side put four goals past Anton Svensson before he was pulled in the break. Kim Tallberg's dangle and finish opened the scoring shorthanded at 8:48, followed just under two minutes later by John Curran's powerplay goal to double the lead at 10:26. The Blaze went three up at 13:35 when David Clements' pass deflected in off Ross Venus' skate, while Peyton Frantti shovelled home from the back post on another powerplay to make it four at 18:43.

Goals at 23:01 and 24:54 from Mitch Cook and Marly Quince put the Blaze six up inside 25 minutes, before Garrett Johnston made it seven 3:46 into period three. Ben Sokay and Craig Garrigan pulled goals back for the stats inside the final seven minutes.
