Five goals in under seven first-period minutes helped Belfast Blaze to a home seven-goal, shutout win over Coventry Blaze at the SSE Arena.

Gabe Bast got the Giants rolling at 8:57 off an inch-perfect David Goodwin feed, followed 44 seconds later by Scott Conway's solo effort between two Blaze defensemen. Mark Cooper made it 3-0 at 12:23 when he one-timed Bast's pass, with Ben Lake and Tyler Soy scoring 18 seconds apart to put the Giants five up after the first 20 minutes.

Conway and Goodwin added goals in the final period to round off the Giants' win, while Jackson Whistle logged a 21-shot shutout.
