Goals and assists
Sheffield Steelers moved up to second in the Premier Sports Elite League with a road win in Cardiff, inflicting the Devils' first league loss of the season.
After a goalless opening period, Jake Coughler put the Devils ahead at 22:49 with a close-range tap-in after the Devils had a flurry of shots on Matt Greenfield. The Steelers were denied an equaliser with a goal ruled out for having used a hand to push the puck over the line, but they were level at 30:29 through Daniel Ciampini's shot from a tight angle that found its way past Ben Bowns. Brett Neumann converted a penalty shot at 33:47 to give the visitors the lead.
Two quick goals at the start of period three helped Sheffield into a more comfortable lead. Ciampini scored on the powerplay while Ryan Penny sat for roughing, before Niklas Nevalainen's shot was deflected in front of Bowns by Adam Raška to make it 4-1 50 seconds later - Bowns was pulled for Taran Kozun following the goal.
Coughler pulled the score back to 4-2 with 6:11 left on the clock, but Martin Látal rounded out the Steelers win on the empty net with just under 90 seconds to play.
