Game recap

Glasgow Clan will start the second leg of their Premier Sports Playoffs Quarter-Final with a one-goal aggregate lead thanks to a 4-3 road win in Cardiff live on Premier Sports.

Matt Register jumped into the play to give the Devils a lead with 8:53 played, using the defenseman as a screen to beat Shane Starrett on the powerplay. The game was all square before the first intermission, however, with Colin Campbell tying things up with 91 seconds left in the period.

A poor turnover from Josh Batch allowed Clan to take the lead in period two - Dyson Stevenson picked up the puck on the boards and fed Guillaume Gauthier in the slot to beat Mac Carruth top shelf at 28:31. 90 seconds or so later, Nolan LaPorte reacted quickest to a rebound from Colton Waltz's shot to put the visitors two ahead.

Trevor Cox got the Devils back to within one at 34:25 to make it a 2-3 game heading into the final period.

A laser of a wrist shot from LaPorte reestablished Glasgow's two-goal advantage :49 into period three, and Clan looked good value to take that sizeable lead back home with them. That was, however, until Cole Sanford made the most of a positional error in the Clan defense and skated in on Starrett to beat him with a mart move and make it 3-4 at 57:45.

That late strike means Glasgow hold a one-goal aggregate lead heading back to Braehead on Sunday for the return leg.
