Game recap

Before Christmas Dundee Stars were some nine points afraid of the playoff places; thanks to tonight's shootout win over Guildford they are now level with Manchester in eighth.

Jordan Abt opened the scoring in Dundee with a wicked shot that hit the back bar of the net and came back out again inside the opening three minutes. Matt Carter's smart finish on a breakaway tied the game at 18:07 as the teams ended period one all square.

Anthony Beauregard scored on the powerplay at 27:24 to put the Stars ahead, nu they were pegged back at 36:29 by Jordan Rowley. Guildford being on level terms didn't last for long, however, with Colton Kroeker putting the Stars back into the lead from close range at 38:20.

Guildford were level again thanks to TJ Foster's excellent shot at 43:51, and then took the lead just under three minutes later through Kruise Reddick's nice deke on the breakaway. Dundee did tie though with a little under six minutes to go thanks to Drydn Dow.

No goals in an exciting overtime period saw the game decided in a shootout: Egils Kalns and Anthony Beauregard both scored, while Guildford only had one goal in their five attempts meaning that the Stars took the extra point.
