Game recap

Glasgow Clan ensured a four-point weekend with a victory over Sheffield in a game where their damage was done in the first period.

Depending on which team you were supporting, the opening period was either a disaster or near perfection. The opening goal came in bizarre circumstances as Chad Rau was the lucky recipient of a puck bouncing in front off the post to slot home with Tomáš Duba stranded. Rasmus Bjerrum struck at 11:24 and 13:56 to put the Clan three up, at which point Duba was pulled for Pavel Kantor, before Matt Stantisz on the powerplay with 12 seconds to play made it four after the first period.

Anthony DeLuca neatly converted on the breakaway after Ben O’Connor’s perfect pass at 31:51 to get the Steelers on the board, and then the hosts made it an interesting final 12 minutes or so. With DeLuca’s second. Things became very interesting with 1:19 to play as the Steelers' were the beneficiaries of a deflected puck in front to pull the score back to 3-4. However the Clan held on to make it a four-point weekend with two road wins.
