Game recap

Coventry got their first Challenge Cup points of the season with a big win against Cardiff, rounding off a miserable weekend for the Devils.

Justin Hamonic's slapshot put the Blaze ahead at 12:43, followed by Evan Bloodoff making it two with 2:06 left in period one. Former Devil Drew Schiestel slapped home the third at 22:48 as the Blaze took control, and when Andrew Johnston made it 4-0 at 34:37 it looked like the home side were in complete control.

Sean Bentivoglio bundled home a puck from close range to get the Devils on the board at 45:24, but it wasn't their night and the game was put to bed with Alex Forbes' empty net goal at 57:50.
