Game recap

Manchester Storm’s great start to the new year continued this evening in Coventry, as the team made it straight road wins in a row and kept their unbeaten sequence alive.

A Dane Byers slapshot got the ball rolling to open the scoring with 10:54 played for the visitors to take the lead, and that was doubled at 12:52 as Rob Linsmayer pounced on a loose puck in the crease. Ben Lake’s back post finish brought the Blaze back to within one with 36 seconds played in the middle period, however Harrison Ruopp’s rocket shot made it 3-1 with 33:47 on the board.

While Tim Crowder pulled another back for the Blaze after Lake’s excellent deke and pass, that was as close as they would come to levelling things as the Storm took total control in the final period. Luke Moffatt and Evan Richardson put the game almost beyond doubt with quick goals at the start of the third, before Logan McMillan rounded off the scoring at 49:35 as the Storm took a four-goal win.
