Game recap

Glasgow Clan continued their push towards the top three with a win over Manchester that puts them only a point behind Nottingham.

The Clan had to earn their win the hard way after Manchester took an early lead – Chance Braid and Dane Byers both found the net inside six and a half minutes in Scotland to give the Storm the lead. Matt Beca halved the deficit at 7:44, and 3:05 into the next period Michal Gutwald brought the teams level. It was the start of a goal rush, with Scott Tanski then putting the Clan ahead at 29:59, before Felix Poulin equalised at 32:36.

Only 63 seconds later Craig Peackock put the Clan back ahead, with Vaclav Stupka’s goal at the beginning of the third period opening up a 5-3 lead. Mike Hammond brought the Storm back to within one with 5:47 to go, but Matt Haywood’s empty-netter 75 seconds from time sealed the Clan’s win.
