Goals and assists
Cardiff Devils stayed top of the table thanks to a six-goal blanking of Fife in the Flyers’ own rink.
Having raced into a fantastic lead in yesterday’s game in Nottingham, the Flyers were on the receiving end of a strong Devils’ opening period tonight. Jake Morissette put the Devils a goal to the good with only 2:19 gone, while Mike Hedden doubled the lead 11 minutes later. Joey Martin’s powerplay effort 2:28 into the middle period put the visitors three ahead, and that lead became four 15 seconds before the halfway point in the game thanks to Hedden’s second of the night.
Evan Mosey made it five for the Devils with 35:43 played and the points were as good as safe still with another period left to play. Stephen Dixon’s late goal rounded off the win for the visitors, giving them a 6-0 win to cap a four-point weekend and earning Ben Bowns another shutout for the season.
