Jágr finally receives 2011 WC Best Forward trophy
IIHF Director Gion Veraguth handed over the award for the Best Forward of the 2011 World Championships on Wednesday.
No-one of three players chosen by the directorate of the
2011 IIHF World Championship
as the best players of the event was awarded with his trophy directly
in Bratislava where the WC was held.
The best goaltender of the event
Viktor Fasth(SWE) received his award in August. The best forward
Jaromír Jágr
from Team Czech republic received his trophy on Wednesday before
the Flyers' game in Montréal.
"They should have just given me the award
before the World Championship, it would have saved the IIHF a trip," the
ever-joyful Jágr told after the presentation of the award to IIHF.com.
The last un-awarded player remains
Alex Pietrangelo (CAN) who was named as the best defender of the 2011 WC.
