The Yaroslavl team will receive players from other clubs.
It's now official: hockey will come back to Yaroslavl in December.
The KHL board approved participation of Lokomotiv in Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga (VHL), the second level of Russian hockey. The roster will be filled with players from 17 to 22 years who have existing contracts with KHL and VHL clubs. Every club has the right to protect two players in this age range. Already about half of the clubs officially presented their lists of protected players. Lokomotiv will play just 22 games, one against each other club and possible qualification to playoffs will be determined on the basis of the percentage of points the team will earn.
Lokomotiv will open its campaign on December 12 against Neftyanik Almetievsk.
