Delays, funding disputes, and NHL warnings put pressure on Milan’s flagship Olympic venue as the 2026 Winter Games draw near. Read more»

For the third time since this summer HK Acroni Jesenice published that player James Sixsmith is going to be a member of the team during the next season.
Sixsmith wasn’t in the group of North American players who left the club in August already, but he stated his dissatisfaction with accommodation and his fear of not getting any payment. He wanted to leave the club as well, but Finnish coach of the team Heikki Mäkelä demanded he needs Sixsmith to stay. Later during August when Sixsmith already performed well for Acroni Jesenice on the ice he got under the influence of another rebel in the team Wacey Rabbit. They both demanded their transfer cards and looked for other clubs through Europe. It was published on the club’s website that they both left Jesenice. Well, that was the case until today – when rumours about Sixsmith’s re-appearance became confirmed once again by the club’s leading stuff.
Therefore it stands until the next change that James Sixsmith is Acroni Jesenice player and he’ll probably help the team already in the third round of this year’s EBEL - Slovenian everlasting classic: Olimpija against Jesenice.
