In Dunedin Australia beat New Zealand 4-1 in the final of the 2011 New Zealand Winter Games.

 
 
 
 
Three teams participated in the hockey event in 2011 New Zealand Winter Games. Besides the host also Australia and China played.

China who arrived late due to the winter weather in New Zealand and also missed several players due to visa problems lost all games. 3-8 to New Zealand and 2-15 to Australia in the group stage. Then 1-6 to New Zealand in the only semi final.

Australia beat New Zealand 8-2 in the group stage and then 4-1 in the final to win the tournament.

Scott Levitt, Scott Stephenson, Peter  Cartwright and Scott Corbett all scored for Australia in the final before new Zealand’s Braden Lee made it 4-1.
