Hosts beat a tough Serbian in the shootouts
Hosts Estonia need shootouts to beat Serbia in their World Championship debut in front of their fans.
The home team dominated the match, but were not very effective in shots on goal, also due to the excellent performance of Serbian goalie Arsenije Rankovic, great protagonist of the evening and deservedly awarded as MoM.
Estonia only managed to break the opponents' defensive barrier in the 31st minute with Eduard Slessarevski, but a mistake in the position of the defense allowed Serbia, in one of the few shots on goal, to equalize with its best skater, Mirko Djumic. Estonia survived a penalty in overtime and have better accuracy in penalties, but this certainly wasn't the start the home team and their fans were hoping for
