After 6 uninterrupted years of defeats, last Saturday Sportul Studentesc Bucharest finally can celebrate
26.01.2013 - 09.03.2019: the two dates will remain historic for Romanian hockey, because it mark the beginning and the end of a period of 6 years of defeats for Sportul Studentesc Bucharest. The team from the capital, without a rink to practice since 2012, following the closure of "Flamaropol" rink - then demolished in 2016 - formed by enthusuastic amateurs and former players, has to wait six seasons between domestic league and Romanian Cup, before to relishing the joy of victory again. It was 26 January when Sportul, yet eliminated, defeated 4-2 Dunarea Galati in a game for the qualification round. Last Saturday the team managed to win 4-3 Marton Aron Sandominic, a junior team created last summer to give the best young players of the country more ice time at professional level, with two goals of veteran Lorant Koloszi and an outstanding performance of former international goalie Tamas Rajz, today sharing the active performance on ice with the job as goalies' coach at Galati CSM
The miracles happened once, because the following day, in the re-mach, Sportul lost 17-2 against the same team, updating the record of goals for the current season to an impressive 53-568.
