After winning game seven in the qualification series Timrå is back in Sweden's top league after five years while Karlskrona are relegated to Hockeyallsvenskan.

Timrå IK lead by talented Jonathan Dahlén, who returned to the team from Vancouver Canucks recovering from illness and the Norwegian goalie Henrik Haukeland won Hockeyallsvenskan and played Karlskrona who finishen last in SHL in a best of seven for a place in SHL next year.

But the series started bad for Timrå and despite creating a lot of chances they had a problems scoring and found themselves down 1-3 leaving Karlskrona with three chances to seal the victory. But Timrå did not give up and came back to 3-3 and a seventh and decisive game.

And the seventh game was a drama. Vilmos Gallo gave Timrå the lead in the first minute and despite being outshot 14-2 in the first period Timrå held on the lead. Henrik Haukeland made some great saves and the score was still 0-1 eight minutes when Timrå doubled the lead with a very lucky goal as a shot hit the helmet of defending Corey Murphy and bounced in to the net. And of course it was the returning hero Jonathan Dahlén who shot the puck and was given the goal.

Karlskrona could not come back, Haukeland got the shutout and Timrå are playing in the SHL 2018/2019.

In the other series Mora won against Leksand to stay in SHL.
