Two goals from Eeli Tolvanen proved to be important as Finland stopped Norway's good start with a 5-1 victory on Friday evening in South Korea.

An early power play chance gave Norway a surprising 1-0 lead early in the battle. With Petri Kontiola in the box for Finland, legendary Norweigan forward Patrick Thoresen used the extra bit of ice to steal the puck and score on a rebound scramble in front, opening the scoring for the team in white.

The legend of Nashville Predators prospect Eeli Tolvanen continued to grow with each passing period. In just his fourth period of Olympic hockey, Tolvanen grabbed his fifth point after one-timing a pass from Sami Lepisto on the power play, tying the game up at one apiece before the end of the first period.

Tolvanen wasn't done yet. He would score his third of the tournament at 5:32 after breaking out with the puck out of the neutral zone and into the Norweigan zone. He had the confidence to softly backhand the puck between the legs of Lars Haugen, giving Finland their first lead of the game.

A poor giveaway by Haugen behind his net allowed Finland to take a decisive two-goal advantage. This time, Veli-Matti Savinainen would take advantage of Haugen being unable to recover in his crease properly, sending a shot below Haugen's right arm to make it 3-1. Sami Lepisto and Sakari Manninen would score one more each to make it 5-1, a lead that Finland would hold until the final buzzer ended Friday's action in South Korea.

The Finns will hope to keep their undefeated streak alive when they meet up with Sweden on Sunday in a battle of two perfect Scandinavian nations. Norway will meet up with Germany on the same day, a game that will decide third place in Group C before the qualification round begins.
