Teams from five nations should compete in the new multi-national league
According to some sources the Macedonian Hockey Federation plans to launch a "Balkan Hockey League". The sources stated that 4 teams will compete in a tournament played league, the teams would be HK Metalurg Skopje (Macedonia), HK Spartak Subotica (Serbia), Slavia Sofia (Bulgaria) and Vukovi Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). In fact these teams should form a first divison, and a second division should also be installed, according to the sources there would be HK Vardar Skopje (Macedonia), Iraklis Thessloniki (Greece) and two teams from Bulgaria.
Each team of the first division will host a tournament, whereas the second division and the final tournaments of the first division will be played only in Skopje.
The first tournament should be played on december 11-13 in Skoje, the sources said.
Beside the Balkan League the Macedonian Hockey Federation will be also organize the domestic Macedonina Hockey League with 4 teams.
From the HFM headquarter we got the information that on Thursday a press conference will be held, we guess to anounce the new league.
