Team Finland defeated Team Russia, 2-1, in Karjala Cup opening game earlier today. Petri Kontiola scored the game-winning goal.
Team Finand got a good start at the 2015 Karjala Cup as they defeated Team Russia, 2-1, earlier today. Ilja Kovaltjuck gave Russia the lead after 15:22 in the first period.
But the happiness wasn't long. Team Finlands' Lasse Kukkonen scored the equalizer only 1:34 after Kovalchucks' go ahead goal. The first act ended 1-1.
The second period became scoreless and the teams were equal. Though there was chances for both team, neither of them managed to score.
Until the third period, when Petri Kontiola became game-winner, as he scored 2-1 halfway through the third period. A good start by the Finnish team.
