Yesterday Lokomotiv Yaroslavl won at home 3-1 against Dinamo Riga, thus obtaining its 11th consecutive victory in the KHL.
Out of this winning streak, five wins have been on the road and six wins at home. Here are the statistics' leaders of Lokomotiv in all these games: Daniil Apalkov 3 goals/ 11 assists, Yegor Averin 8 goals/ 4 assists, Petri Kontiola 3 goals/ 11 assists, Emil Galimov 5 goals/1 assist. The goalie of Lokomotiv, Alexei Murygin, has earned 4 shutouts, while the other goalie Vitaly Kolesnik one shutout. The most important thing, anyways, is that this winning streak goes on.
At this moment Lokomotiv Yaroslavl holds the first place of the Western Conference and also the first place in the overall KHL standings. Lokomotiv has 53 points and the goal difference is of 60-27.
From October 23rd Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is going to play four consecutive games away. In the first game they will play against their main rival in the Western conference, Dinamo Moscow. The last two years, these teams played against each other in the quarterfinals of the Gagarin Cup. At the 2013/14 playoffs Lokomitiv won the series 4-3, while the following season the quarterfinal series was won by Dinamo Moscow 4-2.
This year, they have already met once (on October 3rd) and Lokomotiv won 3-2 in the shootout. Either if Dynamo Moscow will stop this incredible Lokomotiv winning streak or not, we'll discover very soon: the day after tomorrow, on October 23rd. It will be an interesting match.
