Despite a proud hockey tradition, Slovak teams are out of Europe’s elite league. The numbers explain why. Read more»
One sixth of the season just behind us in Slovak Tipsport liga. HK Dukla Trencin leads the table just before HC 05 Banská Bystrica.
HK Dukla Trencin lost only one game in regular time. With best goaltender Jan CHABERA and best goal scorer Tibor MELICHAREK HK Dukla Trencin aim to capture the highest positions in regular season. Second HC Banská Bystrica with overseas goaltending duo Jason Bacashihua - Mathieu Corbeil conceded only 12 goals in 10 games. There is tight difference in the middle of the table with nice suprice of teams MHC Martin and SHK 37 Piestany however not all teams did play with HK Orange 20. MHC Martin will be weaken for the rest of the season by Rastislav SPIRKO who is aiming to Czech tipsport extraliga. Unpleasant worries are at champion defenders HC Kosice finding themselves at ninth place. After elimination from Champions Hockey League they can concentrate only on Slovak highest league. Last team of the table HK 36 Skalica after preseason financial problems still looking to improve team roster with recently signed Dušan Pasek and Juraj Roznik.
